Chapter 727 I Got You Covered

Reaching the final step, the bully suddenly raised his fist and swung it at Xu Ke’s face, a face that irked him greatly. This punch was packed with force, echoing like a tiger’s roar, carrying a tenacity that seemed to want to kill Xu Ke with a single blow.
Xu Ke watched the approaching fist, his smile gaining a hint of sincerity. At the same time, Xu Ke fearlessly met the attack with his own fist. The two fists collided in midair, separated quickly, then collided and separated again. In just over ten seconds, their fists clashed countless times in the air. No matter the direction or force of the bully’s punch, Xu Ke’s fist always arrived on time, blocking all of the bully’s attacks.
At this moment, Xu Ke was like a finely woven net that ensnared the bully, preventing him from evading.
If before it seemed like the bully was chasing Xu Ke down, now the tables had completely turned. Now, it was Xu Ke who was chasing down the bully, with fists falling upon him like a relentless rainstorm, none of them wasted, each landing squarely on the bully’s body.
When the punches first landed on the bully, he didn’t react particularly; they were just a few punches, nothing to be concerned about. But soon, the bully had to eat his own words. At first, he felt only slight pain in the areas struck, akin to a mosquito bite in autumn; just a bit of discomfort.
But as time passed, the bully found that instead of diminishing, the pain intensified, spreading rapidly from scattered points to a broad area. The affected places hurt immensely, causing the bully to frown, sensing that something wasn’t right. However, some things cannot simply end because you wish them to.
The bully’s resistance was swiftly suppressed by Xu Ke’s force.
Before coming here, the bully probably never imagined he would end up crying out in pain in public. Even Ely’s family, consistently protected by Xu Ke, hadn’t anticipated this turn of events. Aside from Xu Ke, the culprit, everyone was caught off guard.
The two who were brawling moments ago suddenly had one of them on the ground crying out loudly, startling everyone at once.
Not only Ely’s family was taken aback, but even the bully’s entourage was shocked by their Boss’s reaction.
"What happened to him?" Ely appeared behind Xu Ke at some point, asking quietly.
"It’s nothing serious, the pain will subside in half an hour," Xu Ke casually replied, shaking his reddened fist.
Xu Ke’s indifferent demeanor sent chills down the spines of his opponents. The words "Eastern Witchcraft" seemed to etch themselves into their minds, flickering like glaring red lights. The alarm bells in their hearts rang even louder when Xu Ke’s gaze fell upon them.
"Why are you all just standing there? The tavern is in this state because of you. Are you going to do nothing? If you don’t clean up thoroughly, don’t repay for the damages at full price, and don’t tidy up the inn you dirtied, his fate will be yours," Xu Ke said, pointing at the person still writhing and crying out in pain.
No verbal threat compares to a real-life example. Following Xu Ke’s words, the henchmen looked toward the one still rolling on the ground, who now appeared as weak as a chick. Whatever Xu Ke commanded became their immediate task. When commanded to pay, they quickly dug into their pockets; if theirs were empty, they searched others’.
Some, after extracting money from their clothes, placed it on the couch and scrambled to get cleaning supplies, desperately trying to display their diligence in front of Xu Ke. Those unaware of the situation might think Xu Ke was the actual bully in charge.
The reversal of the situation happened so suddenly, leaving no time for anyone to react. By the time Ely’s family realized what had happened, the once-chaotic inn was now as pristine as new. The floors were clean enough to reflect a person, and everyone stood in a long line before Xu Ke, including the bully, who hadn’t been rolling on the ground for long.
Perhaps due to the pain, the bully’s face was ashen, and standing with his former underlings, he looked like a man near death.
Satisfied, Xu Ke surveyed the spruced-up inn. "Does it look alright now? If not, I can have them redo it," Xu Ke said casually, showing no reservation.
"It’s enough, it’s enough, this will do," the landlady muttered in astonishment, looking at the scene before her. "I never thought we could receive such treatment. Now everyone’s alright, and they’ve repaid what they owe. Let’s put an end to this," she suggested, showing a desire for peace.
Understanding their concerns, Xu Ke had deliberately offered this opportunity for goodwill. It seemed they hadn’t let immediate benefits blind them, which was good.
Hearing they were no longer under the demon king’s scrutiny, the remaining people breathed sighs of relief, as if reborn. After all, Xu Ke’s prowess was outstanding, and they didn’t want to find themselves as indomitable men writhing on the ground, losing face. That would be too humiliating.
"Alright then, since they say it’s over, it’s over," Xu Ke said, unable to suppress a slight smile at their relieved expressions. He had done something so trifling, and yet they were so nervous and scared. But why didn’t they think about how anxious others felt when they tried to kidnap someone’s daughter?
People don’t understand pain until the knife’s in their own flesh.
"What are you still doing here? Leave, but let me warn you, this inn is under my protection now. Anyone who messes with it is messing with me, clear?" Xu Ke said, his eyes locked on the bully, making it obvious the warning was directed at him.
The bully’s forehead veins throbbed uncontrollably. He dared not meet Xu Ke’s eyes; just a glance reminded him of the ordeal he’d endured earlier. The pain was etched deeply in his mind, causing a Pavlovian response of body-wide pain and nausea at the mere sight of Xu Ke’s face. But to prevent Xu Ke from doing anything more outrageous, the bully nodded under Xu Ke’s gaze.
