As it was close to 9 oâclock, those chatting in the pantries and greeting each other returned to their positions, preparing to start work.
After Chi Enen walked out of the Director office, she ignored the occasional glances directed at her, and headed straight to Lunaâs position.
Upon suddenly seeing her, Luna first panicked, then calmed down, frowned, and turned her swivel chair, speaking in an impatient tone, "Whatâs the matter?"
Chi Enenâs gentle chin suddenly hardened with severity, without a word, she raised her hand and slapped it across the arrogant womanâs faceâ
"Smack!" A crisp slap echoed throughout the entire Planning Department.
Everyoneâs gaze was instantly drawn over.
Lunaâs left cheek suddenly stung, and she instinctively reached out to cover her face, looking at the little lady in front of her, like she couldnât believe it, her face flushed red, "You dare to hit me?!"
Chi Enen answered her with actions, backhanding another slap, cleanly and efficiently landing on her face.
"Smack!"
Lunaâs face turned to the side again, she abruptly stood up, and shouted angrily, "What are you doing!"
Chi Enen wasnât afraid of her at all, looking coolly into her eyes, she spoke indifferently, "Helping you wake up."
She didnât want to talk reason anymore; since Luna was spreading such rumors outside, she obviously wasnât a person who listened to reason. Talking reason with an unreasonable person is like casting pearls before swine. Sometimes, resolving matters in Li Beijueâs straightforward and rough manner is quite effective. At least this way, it relieves her anger quickly, and it lets others see that sheâs not someone who stays silent.
"Are you awake now?"
Luna clenched her fist, glaring at her viciously, looking like she couldnât hold back from taking action, "I donât know what youâre talking about."
"Then Iâll make it clear, so youâll know!" Chi Enen looked at her bluntly, "It was you who spread the rumor that I have an improper relationship with the Human Resources Department Director, wasnât it?"
Luna was prepared, but her heart sped up for a moment at the question, then she calmed down, crossing her arms over her chest and sneering, "Oh, thatâs a strange question. What do you mean it was me who said you have an improper relationship with the Human Resources Department Director? When did I say it? Did you see or hear it yourself? What evidence do you have to question me here?"
With the five-fingered mark from Chi Enenâs slap still on her face, she continued, "How would I know what kind of relationship you have with the Human Resources Department Director? But if you truly have nothing to do with the Human Resources Department Director, why are you so worried? I only know that a guilty person would act anxiously!"
Chi Enen knew she would deny it, she remained unflustered, coldly staring into her eyes as if seeing through her disguise, and said coolly, "I just clarified with the Director. He said he only told you I wasnât recruited in the normal way. So, the only person in the company who could fabricate such rumors is you!"
Luna seemed angered by Chi Enen, and actually didnât deny it anymore. Her impeccably made-up face was filled with arrogance, with her chin slightly raised, "So what if it was me? We all entered the company through transfers or applications, but you? Did you? You came in through connections, parachuted right in. Also, the Director said when you came in, the Human Resources Department specifically asked to take good care of you."
"If you have no relationship with the Human Resources Department Director, would anyone specifically ask to take good care of you? Why didnât the Human Resources Department Director tell the Director to take care of me? He didnât tell the Director to take care of Kimi and the others, just you. Youâre quite special."
Luna already didnât like Chi Enen, so she went ahead and spilled everything she knew, "Also, you say you have no connections with the Human Resources people, then tell me, who did you rely on to get in?"
