"The airplane is about to take off; countdown begins..."
Chi Enen sat on the sofa opposite him, opened her laptop, quietly avoiding disturbing him, and focused on her tasks. She calmly entered work mode.
She needed to go to Country W for a week, making it necessary to finalize matters assigned by Ryan. Additionally, the workload accumulated over the past few days wasnât insignificant, so she had to make good use of her time to handle everything.
It worked out perfectlyâflying from Country T to Country W would take seven to eight hours, giving her a solid window to complete her tasks.
Chi Enen was the kind of person who dedicated herself wholeheartedly to whatever she was doing. Once she immersed herself in work, it was hard for her to be distracted.
When she raised her head again, the airplane had already landed at Country W Airport.
The man opposite her had, at some unknown point, put away the pile of documents, rubbed the bridge of his nose, and said, "Letâs go."
So soon?
She hadnât even noticed that they had arrived in Country W.
Chi Enenâs heartbeat quickened for a moment. She closed her laptop, took a deep breath to steady herself, and said calmly, "Alright."
Cars were already waiting outside the airport for them to disembark.
As soon as they got off the airplane, over ten well-trained bodyguards bent respectfully and greeted, "Master Jue!"
Their demeanor was akin to welcoming an emperor returning home!
Li Beijue didnât even glance at them, directly pulling open the car door and saying to Chi Enen, "You first."
The driver hadnât expected that Master Jue had someone returning with himâlet alone a woman. Heâd heard endless rumors circulating outside that claimed Master Jue was getting married, not to Miss Kim from the Kim family but to Miss Chi. Now, it seemed this must be Miss Chi.
Who wouldâve thought that this Miss Chi was bold enough to follow Master Jue back?
He had only glanced at Chi Enen onceâno, he had stolen that glanceâand suddenly felt a piercingly cold gaze land on him, sending shivers down his spine. When he looked up, he instantly met the manâs emotionless pupils. His heart nearly stopped in that momentâit was Master Jue!
Luckily, Li Beijue merely gave him a warning look before shifting his gaze away.
The driver breathed a long sigh of relief and no longer dared to sneak glances at Chi Enen. He lowered his head, wishing he could bury himself in the ground!
Terrifying...
He had merely taken one look and was immediately reprimanded by Master Jue.
This wasnât just overprotectivenessâit was sheer possessiveness taken to an extreme!
From the care Master Jue had displayed toward Miss Chi, it was clear that there would certainly be conflict with Old Master Jue sooner or later.
Hopefully, none of themâthe insignificant "small pond fish" caught in the middleâwould suffer collateral damage...
This brief moment of drama occurred so quickly that Chi Enen hadnât even noticed. She responded with a soft "Mm," fully aware that Li Beijue had opened the door and insisted she enter first as a way of demonstrating his care for her in front of everyone. It was meant to establish her authority and prevent anyone from looking down on her.
Though she had long since overcome her former insecurities, this small yet thoughtful gesture from him still filled her heart with an inexplicable warmth.
It also made her feel more confident about whatever challenges might lie ahead!
She bent down and got into the car first.
Li Beijue followed closely behind and sat down beside her.
The driver quickly closed the car door for them, went around to the front, started the car, and asked, "Master Jue, are we heading back to the old mansion?"
"What do you think?" Li Beijue shot back impatiently.
The driver immediately turned the car around, and with a fleet of over ten vehicles departing the airport simultaneouslyâsome clearing the way ahead, others protecting from behindâthe spectacle was breathtaking. Anyone unaware might mistake them for a presidential entourage.
