She could only turn her head to look at Xiu Xi. Xiu Xi pursed his lips; to him, the entire cat was his, and there was no part he couldnât look at. But seeing her so resistant and uncomfortable, he had no choice but to compromise and step out for a bit.
Once Xiu Xi left, Jiaojiao cooperated much more, even trying hard to lift her little butt, letting Shu Wen hold her while Shu Jiao took her temperature.
Jiaojiao always thought she was fine, and after taking her temperature, although the thermometer showed a temperature higher than that of humans, it was normal for her.
"Meow ga." See, Iâm fine.
Jiaojiao shook her little head and remembered she hadnât used the bathroom yet. She couldnât wait for Shu Jiao to set up the litter box, so she hurried to the bathroom to take care of it. Afterward, she wanted to grab some paper to cover it, but when she looked up, she realized the paper rack was way higher than she was. She had no choice but to pretend to use her little paws to scrape around a couple of times before calling to Shu Jiao to come in.
Hearing the sound, Shu Jiao came in to help clean up, then wet a towel with warm water, picked her up from the floor, and not only wiped her little fur face but also each of her four tiny paws.
While wiping, she said softly, "Itâs the changing of the seasons now, with more viruses around, so itâs better to avoid going out in the future."
Jiaojiao nodded indifferently; Shu Wenâs engagement party was over, and they were leaving soon, so they probably wouldnât have time to go out anyway.
When Shu Jiao carried Jiaojiao downstairs, she found that her new uncle had come to report in early.
But why did she feel that after not seeing him for a night, her new uncle had turned into a teenage girl, not only acting all shy and dodgy, but his face seemed to be full of pimples?
"Meow?" What happened to your face?
After arriving downstairs, Jiaojiao noticed, perhaps because she was closer now, that the pimples on Qin Qiongâs face seemed to turn into mosquito bites.
Especially his left eye, maybe his eyelid got bitten, and the whole eye was swollen, looking quite comical.
But isnât it almost autumn? How come there are still mosquitoes, and so many bites at that.
Jiaojiao was really puzzled.
When Shu Jiao carried Jiaojiao downstairs, Shu Wen followed beside her. Qin Qiong, seeing them come down, was initially delighted but then seemed to think of something and immediately turned his face away, avoiding them.
It was only this morning that Qin Qiong realized that his face had so many lumps. Although it was already nearing autumn and mosquitoes were rare, they had hidden in a dark area yesterday where mosquitoes were large and vicious, biting him into this ghostly appearance.
He noticed it in the mirror this morning and didnât want Shu Wen to see him like this, but with the Ruan Family only staying a few days, he, being a native of Beidu, would seem remiss not to accompany them.
Besides, it had been agreed that after the engagement party, all remaining candies and pastries would be given to Jiaojiao, so early in the morning, his parents had sent him to deliver them.
Originally, he was relieved not to see Shu Wen upon entering the door and hearing from the staff that others hadnât woken up yet, but just as he turned around, he ran into them.
Especially with Jiaojiaoâs little eyes fixed straight on him, he wished he could find a hole to crawl into.
