Yuanlong Jiang frowned as he signed his name, watching Jiang Bin, unconscious, being wheeled into the operating room, his expression not looking good.
No matter who the person was, the fact that they could beat Jiang Bin to this extent meant they were not taking the Jiang Family seriously.
Ma Yinyin arrived at the hospital at around ten in the morning, coming along with Jiang Xun, and Jiang Bin had not yet come out of the operating room.
“Hungry, aren’t you? Have something to eat first.” She carried a food box and handed it to Yuanlong Jiang, also asking, “Have they caught the person? Who did this?”
Yuanlong Jiang had rushed over early in the morning without having time to eat anything, and since the surgery required someone to stay, he had been waiting here all along, feeling very hungry, so he took the food immediately and started eating.
“I don’t know who it was.” He took a bite of a pan-fried bun, and as the warm food went down his throat, his expression softened noticeably.
When he looked at Jiang Xun, who was quietly standing by the side, his eyes were filled with gentleness.
Since Jiang Xun returned, though he didn’t speak much and wasn’t particularly close to them, just finding their son was the happiest thing for them as a couple.
What was more, Jiang Xun was exceptionally outstanding; the awards he had received over the years could almost fill a room.
The only regret was that he was not close to them, but now seeing him take the initiative to come to the hospital, knowing they still mattered to him, naturally made them happy.
Seeing him eat several pan-fried buns in a row, afraid he might choke, Ma Yinyin quickly opened another thermos, filled with freshly made soy milk from the morning.
Watching Yuanlong Jiang drink a few sips, and finding it inconvenient to hold the cup, she took the thermos back and tentatively asked, “Do you think it might be related to what happened yesterday?”
To say that the Jiang Family hadn’t made any enemies over the years would certainly be impossible.
But striking at this time seemed too coincidental.
After all, how many coincidences are there in this world? But then she immediately felt it was unlikely.
Hearing this, Yuanlong Jiang’s face immediately darkened, and he snapped at her, “Don’t talk nonsense about things without evidence!” His emotions were so agitated that he started coughing.
In Yuanlong Jiang’s eyes, the Shu Family was a family rooted in scholarly tradition; how could they do something so underhanded as to bag someone and beat them up?
The Ruan Family was even less likely; the Ruan Family was known for their kindness. If not for them, their son would not have come back.
Doubting anyone, it should not be them.
“Okay, okay, I won’t say it, I won’t say it anymore, don’t get upset.” Seeing Yuanlong Jiang’s face flushed with urgency and coughing continuously, Ma Yinyin hurriedly patted his back to calm him down.
“They are benefactors of our family. Such words shouldn’t be spoken again to avoid people thinking that the Jiang Family is ungrateful. And have you forgotten? Back then when Xin Miao fell into the river, it was a child from the Ruan Family who saved her. A family like that, with such upright roots, would never do something as low as this.”
Ma Yinyin thought so too, realizing she had gone off course.
However, speaking of yesterday’s events, Ma Yinyin felt they should set aside some time to specially go to the Shu Family and apologize. Their engagement banquet was disrupted, and the Shu Family must feel uncomfortable about it.
She turned to Yuanlong Jiang to talk about the matter of apologizing in person. As the couple discussed, they didn’t notice that Jiang Xun’s eyes grew a bit somber.
He knew better than anyone how protective the Ruan Family was. Yet, he still couldn’t understand why they were so protective of a little cat, since other than being particularly fat and yellow, wearing an ill-fitting pink cheongsam, there seemed to be nothing particularly special about it.
