Structure
s50
(Project Management Professional (PMP®) Power-Prep Preparation materials freshly written for PMP® & CAPM™ Exam Candidates with the PMBoK® Guide 6th Edition)
• Course Structure
– This course is DIFFERENT from many others because it
• Takes the Exam Content Outline as its basis
• PMBoKG is explained in ;§ECO; sequence – The LOGIC of a project!
• (One ‘drawback?’ The logical order is that of PMBoKG Part2 so
we have to ‘bounce around’ Part 1 – to integrate the technical details
-explanation coming soon –we can’t do everything first!!)
– First will be the Five domains of the Exam Content Outline
• We’ll visit them twice (an overview then in detail with an example question)
• Later a summary to consolidate
We’ll cover the 6th Edition’s new expressions of Knowledge Area Trends,
Agile influences, Tailoring, and Concepts
• Throughout we use Reference and Revision Aids
• Throughout we use Practice Exam questions†

Exam Fees Etc.
s50
(Project Management Professional (PMP®) Power-Prep Preparation materials freshly written for PMP® & CAPM™ Exam Candidates with the PMBoK® Guide 6th Edition)
• You need a copy of the PMBoK-Guide®
– If you join PMI you get a .pdf copy as a member’s right
– PMI membership is $129pa ($32 for student membership)
– If you join PMI the exam is discounted from $555 to $405
• It is cheaper to be a member AND take the exam AND get the PMBoKG
than just take the exam!
• There are resources everywhere
– Use all the questions† you can find BUT resist the rest
– Don’t download and read other people’s, instead
Write your own (and upload them if you want to)
– These course materials & the PMBoKG are already a LOT to read
• Don’t add more!
• BUT DO WRITE/ Draw/ Summarise your thoughts and models to build your
recall and understanding and relationships
M:2 s5 of:12 (s:7 of:725) http://learn.logicalmodel.netand http://www.logicalmodel.net+44 84 52 57 5707
† Questions found on the internet & mobile-apps vary in quality, are often from old versions of the PMBoKG and old areas of exam focus - Some
caution is required; poor questions can be confusing – When you can spot ‘good questions’ you’re exam ready

Welcome To A Tough but Rewarding Journey
s50
(Project Management Professional (PMP®) Power-Prep Preparation materials freshly written for PMP® & CAPM™ Exam Candidates with the PMBoK® Guide 6th Edition)
• ‘Normal’ courses succeed with Real-world stories
– We must be very careful of ‘in-real-life’ here!!
– Real-life aids understanding of concepts, Learning is only worthwhile and only stays with us if it gives knowledge to build
real-world useful skills but to pass the exams we MUST conclude with “…and the book says…”
• ‘Normal’ courses have a Case-study to bind it all together
– Our binding forces are the Revision Aids and lots of very good Exam Questions† !
– First 1/3rd of your study effort has to be a lot of instructor input, later supported self-study & homework
– First 1/3rd when you get lost about ‘big-picture relationships’ don’t worry
… Gather facts, understand minute-by-minute, ASK Qns as we go (the last 1/3rd is where it comes together)
First 1/3rd expect that in some places we ‘1st Cover briefly (get structure) and note more detail to come later’’
• ‘Detailed how-to’ for the tools & techniques has an exam orientation rather than fully real world where needed
– Exam standard is different from (but compatible with) real-world fluency
– Full focus on practical fluency would make the course 135hrs! See our non-exam offerings!
M:2 s6 of:12 (s:8 of:725) http://learn.logicalmodel.netand http://www.logicalmodel.net+44 84 52 57 5707
† The internet is full of questions. You should use them. 80% are 5th edition, 10% 4th or earlier. Mostly that won’t matter but for
example stakeholders are no longer part of the comms chapter! Questions now often want “what next?” (more detail soon)
