Chapter 118: Authorâs Note: On Skipping Ahead
Hi everyone,
You may have noticed the delayâand thereâs a reason for it. Over the past few days, Iâve drafted three different versions of Chapter 115, each with a different tone and direction. And truthfully? I didnât
any of them. None of them felt like the right continuation after the intensity and closure of the ICW dueling arc. So I scrapped them.
As I reflected on it, I realized something important: Severusâs sixth year became much longer than I ever intended. With the political arcs, the invention drama, and the world championship, it evolved into an epic in its own right. Going back to a quiet school year after thatâwell, it felt like trying to whisper after shouting on a mountain.
Thatâs why Iâm considering a one-year time skipâfrom the end of the ICW arc to Severusâs graduation at Ilvermorny.
Not because I want to rush the story, but because I want to keep the emotional momentum and narrative integrity. Right now, Iâm more interested in showing who Severus
after all thisârather than rehashing school politics or filler arcs that donât excite me (or you).
But Iâd love to know your thoughts. Would you be open to skipping ahead? Would you prefer a mini-arc at Ilvermorny first? What moments would you hate to miss?
Drop a comment and let me know.
Thank you, as always, for your patience, your kindness, and your passion for this story.
