It was noon, and the scorching sun hung high in the sky.
A striking figure appeared outside the Magic Academyâit was Yaeger.
âOnce Richard returns to Jade City, moving around openly will be much harder,â she muttered to herself as she stepped into the Academy.
Classes had just ended, and groups of students were filing out of the Academy.
Their steps slowed as they noticed a masked figure cloaked in black robes.
But their caution faded almost instantlyâmany high-ranking Academy members dressed similarly.
âHuh? Why are they bowing and greeting me?â
As she walked, Yaeger grew puzzled by the studentsâ polite greetings.
As soon as Yaeger reached the upper level of the Sage Tower and stepped off the platform, the lab door opened, and Allie emerged as if sheâd been expecting her.
âYou knew Iâd be here around this time?â Yaeger asked, curious.
âOf course.â Allie held up a clear crystal, about the size of a ping-pong ball, with a proud smile. Through the crystal, she could monitor everything within the Academy without ever leaving her lab.
âArenât you a bit too eager?â Yaeger squinted at her with a teasing grin.
Allie froze for a second before catching on, her cheeks flushing. âO-Of course not!â
Two nearby receptionists exchanged glances, a gleam of anticipation in their eyes.
Their beloved Master Allie was about to fall victim to another playful attack from the Black-hearted Princess!
âLetâs head inside. Things arenât looking good lately,â Yaeger whispered, leaning in.
Allieâs playful expression faded, turning serious as she led Yaeger into the lab.
âWhatâs going on?â she asked, her tone suddenly anxious.
âArenât you the well-informed one?â Yaeger replied with a faint smile.
âStop joking around. Be serious,â Allie shot back, narrowing her eyes.
âRichardâs returning in two days.â
âAre you sure?â Allie asked, surprised.
âYou didnât hear about this?â Yaeger asked, puzzled.
Allie shook her head. âI donât have any contacts within the palace.â
âNo contact with Lili either?â
âNot lately. Iâm worried it might attract attention and cause trouble for Alicia,â Allie replied.
âI see.â Yaeger nodded, then remembered something. âBy the way, you can take your time on the trading system. We wonât be using it anytime soon.â
âAnd whyâs that?â Allie asked, blinking in confusion.
âGrand Duke Keene, whoâs been eyeing the Imperial Auction House, is planning to lodge a complaint with Richard to shut us down.â Yaeger shrugged, speaking with a hint of helplessness.
No one could say how much profit sheâd lose in just a few days.
Regardless of what happened next, she had firmly pinned the blame on Richard.
And someday, she would make him pay back her losses a hundredfold.
âWhat a mess.â Allie patted Yaegerâs shoulder. âWill you still be in the city two days from now?â
âThat depends. If Richard doesnât go wild, Iâll keep roaming around the city,â Yaeger replied. But she knew it was unlikelyâthere was little chance the Emperor wouldnât be furious upon his return.
âItâs a shame I donât know where Alicia is. Otherwise, Iâd suggest you hide out with her for a while,â Allie said, a note of regret in her voice.
âNo need to hide. If things go south, I can still make a run for it,â Yaeger said calmly. As long as Richard didnât come to capture her himself, she was confident she could escape.
âStill, be careful,â Allie cautioned, her tone filled with concern.
âI will. By the way, what was todayâs meeting about?â Yaeger asked, curiosity sparking in her eyes.
Normally, Allie wasnât one to attend meetings just because she was invited. If it wasnât important, sheâd much rather stay in her lab, avoiding interactions with the other higher-ups.
âItâs all because of you.â Allie rolled her eyes, clearly exasperated.
âMe? What did I do?â Yaeger looked genuinely puzzled.
How could she possibly influence Academy matters?
âThe old coots think that having the âscourge of the Empireâ around is bad for the Academyâs image. So they held a meeting, and almost everyone wanted to ban you from entering. But I vetoed it!â Allie placed her hands on her hips, looking quite proud of herself.
âExcellent, excellent. Just what Iâd expect from the Empireâs former scourge.â Yaeger reached out, patting her head with a smile. Allieâs long silver hair felt smooth beneath her fingers.
âIâm not a child!â Allie shook her head, her bright red eyes glaring up at Yaeger.
âHeh, thanks. If I couldnât enter the Academy freely, itâd really disrupt the treatment process.â
âThatâs some half-hearted gratitude,â Allie replied with a look of dissatisfaction.
âWell, how about a big, wet kiss as a thank you?â Yaeger licked her lips suggestively, her pink tongue adding an irresistible charm.
Allieâs heart raced, and her mind went blank. In that instant, Yaeger leaned in, her beautiful face drawing closer, until they were just inches apart.
âWahhh!â Allie snapped back to reality, instantly retreating with a flustered shriek.
Outside the door, the two receptionists exchanged glances as Allieâs sharp scream echoed through the hall.
âSounds like theyâre having a great time in thereâ¦â
âProbably even using⦠toys.â
âThink itâs a whip, or maybe candles?â
âProbably both.â
âHow exciting!â
âAbsolutely!â
The two leaned closer to the stone door, eager to eavesdrop. Although the lab had good soundproofing, loud screams like that could still escape. The two receptionists could only guess what was happening inside based on the sounds they overheard.
âHeheh, your reactions are always so entertaining.â Yaeger smiled, calm and amused. She knew Allieâs limits, and it was simply too satisfying to tease her.
âI⦠I was just caught off guard! Wet kisses are my favorite!â Allie retorted, stubbornly holding her ground.
âOh, is that so? Then why donât we keep going?â Yaeger squinted, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.
âN-No⦠Not now⦠Thatâs right! We need to focus on the treatment! Yes, treatment first!â Allie stammered, her eyes unfocused as she tried to regain her composure.
âTrue, treatment does come first.â Yaeger nodded. âItâs getting late. Letâs begin.â
âYep!â Allie nodded, letting out a quiet sigh of relief.
âSheâs teased me so many times⦠Sob, Iâve lost all dignity as her senior!'
Teasing her juniors had once been one of her few joys. But now, she could only hope that this junior would take it easy on her. In a way, it was almost tragic.
âWhy arenât you undressing?â Yaeger asked, breaking the silence.
Allie snapped back to attention, exclaiming, âAgain?â
âItâs not âagain.â Itâs every timeâthe treatment requires it,â Yaeger replied, her tone serious.
âCan I at least leave my underwear on?â Allie pleaded, clearly struggling.
âIf youâre not worried about me making a mistake with the acupuncture and messing up your body, then sure, keep it on,â Yaeger replied with a flat expression.
She wasnât exaggeratingâprecision was essential for Allieâs treatment, and any interference could lead to mistakes.
âFine, fine! Iâll do it!â After a brief hesitation, Allie finally complied, reluctantly undressing.
