Light, flames, radiation.
Shen Ye stood amidst a storm of flames reaching thousands of degrees Celsius, as if he were basking in sunlight.
He even had the leisure to think about something else.
Itâs said that millions of people go missing on Earth every year.
Could they all have turned into "material"?
He wondered how powerful this organization truly was.
They even used nuclear bombs.
They must rank highly on this planet.
Time gradually passed.
The nuclear explosion began to run its course.
All energy dissipated.
Only the surface retained an intense heat.
Everything was obliterated.
Only Shen Ye remained, standing in place, lost in his thoughts.
âI wonder how Teacher is doing now.
If it were Teacher, post-nuclear explosion, heâd probably pull out a cigarette and smoke itâsuch an effortlessly cool scene.
Too bad I donât smoke.
Smoking is bad for health.
In the sky.
A figure suddenly appeared.
It was a man with black wings growing from his back.
Immediately after, twelve men and women with pristine white wings appeared behind him.
They all looked over at Shen Ye.
Shen Ye was startled.
Angels?
Angels on Blue Star?
"Still alive?"
The man with black wings smirked, looking down on Shen Ye from above.
"And who might you be?" Shen Ye asked.
"Iâm the one who oversees the planâjudging from this angle, all the powers youâve gained stem from my achievements," said the black-winged man.
"Youâre abducting orphans and killing them for experiments?" Shen Ye asked.
"Such crude phrasingâthis is a research project advancing civilization, and you are merely the âmaterial,â" the black-winged man said with a smile.
"I never agreed to being your âmaterial,â" Shen Ye replied.
"So what? Before me, you have no choice." The black-winged man sneered.
"Iâll kill you," Shen Ye responded.
"You? Really?"
The black-winged manâs hand emitted a glowing orb.
"Attack together," he commanded.
At his command, all twelve angels cast their magic alongside him.
âA simultaneous barrage!
Shen Ye dared not be careless. He reached out into the void and grabbed a dark green bone blade.
Rain Poison Blade!
This weapon was Fifth Order in Truth, temporarily crafted from the recently resurrected Big Skeleton.
If even this couldnât stop the incoming attackâ
Shen Ye was prepared to don the Truth 12th Rank World Master Battle Armor, defending while finding an opportunity to escape.
In the blink of an eye.
Thirteen glowing magic orbs descended!
Shen Ye raised his green bone blade high and shouted:
"Long Hatred..."
The blade erupted with millions of streaks of Sword Light, ready to clash with the thirteen glowing orbs!
Suddenly, an anomalyâ
A series of popping sounds echoed in the air, as if balloons were deflating.
Before the thirteen glowing orbs could approach the countless Sword Light streaks, they shrank under its radiance and quickly vanished into nothingness.
The figures in the sky, from the man with black wings to the twelve angelic-looking beings, were struck by confusion, staggering and plummeting downward.
Shen Ye was shocked and hurriedly brandished his blade, summoning countless Sword Light streaks as protection.
âWere their earlier moves a bluff?
As he mused, lines of battle information appeared before him:
"Your weapon âRain Poison Bladeâ is at Truth Fifth Order, suppressing opponents not yet at Truth level. They are utterly rendered defenseless, unable to attack or defend."
"The enemyâs magic power has been suppressed."
"Entry âBlast Drummerâ achieves Truth Fourth Order; opponents not at Truth level are directly affected by the entry."
"..." Shen Ye.
He expected a boss but ended up with grunts?
But their entrance was absurdly flashy.
Waitâ
Without the ability to defend themselves, they fell headfirst from the skyâ
Shen Ye looked up.
The thirteen black-and-white angels collided with a few stray streaks of Sword Light, their physiques instantly turned into pulp, then dissolved into blood mist, and finally dissipated into dust.
The wind blew.
The world was left pristine and clean, as if none of it ever happened.
Shen Ye froze for a moment.
How odd.
These so-called angelsâlimited in defense, sureâbut given their physical resilience, they shouldnât have been so fragile.
Were a few streaks of Sword Light enough to completely annihilate them?
Shen Yeâs gaze flickered and turned to the sky.
Among the falling angels, one angelâs wings had detached mid-air and were still drifting.
Shen Ye retracted the Sword Light and beckoned with his hand, pulling the wing over from a distance to examine it closely.
âIt was merely a fake wing made of glued bird feathers.
These individuals had worn them on their backs, creating the illusion of "angels" in the eyes of observers.
"So turns out youâre just Victoriaâs Secret," Shen Ye sighed, his interest waning.
Itâs the nuclear bombâs fault.
The nuclear bomb raised the stakes so much that he thought these individuals were truly formidable.
âHad he known they were so weak, he wouldnât have bothered using so many entries and abilities!
Shen Ye sheathed his blade and shifted his concerns to the other side of the barrier.
He had completely lost contact with the other side of the barrier.
He couldnât help but wonder how the Parasitic Empress was faring.
What had happened there?
How to put itâ
Although this side was the real world, he was an orphan here.
On that other side, he had family, friends, comrades, and duties he had to fulfill.
Taking advantage of the intense heat, explosion, and radiation rampant at the moment, ensuring that no one could spy on the situationâ
It was time to return.
To see what was happening in the multilayered universe and then come back.
"Door."
Shen Ye spoke lowly.
The Gate of Heaven materialized in an instant.
He pushed open the door, stepped through, and left the real world.
Only an amber gem lay quietly in the soil.
If Shen Ye were still here, he would undoubtedly recognize itâit was the very gem from around his neck.
