0008 – Water Sprite and Trading

A straw mat was taken out from under the bed and spread on the floor to serve as a foot cushion when getting off the bed. Two other mats were folded with good angles and placed beside the two stoves as seat cushions.
A simple dinner of leftover meat soup from noon was eaten.
The chat interface was opened to pass the time.
Although the chat channel often discussed topics of little nutritional value, it was a good tool for passing the dark night. Athena had been eating bear meat for so long that she felt it was time for a change of taste.
She sent a chat request to the boy who had collected mushrooms. Without waiting for the other party's reply, she opened her trading interface.
After scrolling up and down for a while, she still didn't see the water she wanted.
Indeed, water sources were still too scarce. Returning to the main trading interface, she still clicked into the water-selling transaction.
Athena thought she would have to wait for a while, but she didn't expect the person on the other side to respond immediately.
To be honest, the other party's excessive enthusiasm frightened Athena.
Thinking that she still had trades to discuss with the other party, and the other party controlled important water resources, Athena chose not to refuse.
The Water Sprite's question made Athena realize that this was definitely not a simple girl.
Athena didn't show any weakness.
Athena knew it wasn't that simple. The price she proposed was just a test, and she didn't expect it to succeed.
Athena wasn't a person who liked to deal with others. After going round and round, wasn't it the same result? The other party didn't expect her to interrupt her attack so directly, leaving her no face.
Soon, the other party sent a request to Athena.
The traded water was poured into the bucket full. Fortunately, she bought a large one, otherwise it wouldn't be enough. But this time, apart from her own 100 kilograms of bear meat, all the items available for trading were used up.
Glancing at her friend request, the boy who picked mushrooms still hadn't agreed. She lit a fire and took out some bear meat to roast for tomorrow's lunch. While staring at the chat interface, she didn't forget to flip the sizzling bear meat.
Urgent knocking sounds echoed. Athena immediately became alert. With an axe in her left hand and a candle in her right hand, she slowly approached the wooden door.
It turned out to be that shape-shifting monster. She almost forgot about him.
Since the upgrade of the sanctuary, the area within the outer fence belonged to the area protected by light. If it weren't for the contract between the Lost Soul and Athena, he might not have been able to enter.
Athena opened the door and saw that the guy was still in his miniature form.
He hopped around, trying to hand the parchment in his hand to Athena, but couldn't reach. Athena bent down and took the parchment from his hand. The parchment returned to its normal size in Athena's hand.
"Far away, snow is advancing in the darkness, carrying its followers—the Snowstorm Beasts."
As soon as Athena finished reading the information on the parchment, the writing disappeared, leaving only a blank parchment. The Lost Soul below stretched out his small hand, trying to get his parchment back from Athena.
"As an apology for leaving without notice yesterday, I'll take this parchment from you."
With a bang, Athena closed the door. Leaving the Lost Soul outside, stomping in anger but helpless.
The information brought by the Lost Soul was very practical, or too useful. So, another trade appeared in the trading panel.
This trade immediately exploded in the regional chat channel. This was the first time someone traded information. Before this, no one knew about this function. Everyone was incredulous, but seeing that it had been certified by the system, some began to frantically check what they had to exchange.
Athena's friend requests exploded, but she ignored them all. This frenzy was even more intense than when she sold bear meat last time, and no one was left out.
