Memorization E- book
The #1 Proven Methods to Memorize the Quran
Introduction
In fall of 2002, I began my memorization journey at the age of 10. I could only speak the Persian
language and was not familiar with Arabic at all. Although the letters were similar, I still
struggled to memorize the words as I did not know the meaning of what I was reading.
Throughout my memorization journey which took 5 years, I noticed many techniques that I wish
I have known the moment I started. At first I was just memorizing a line everyday which then
became 5 pages a day. Have I had someone to tell me about these techniques, I would have
memorized the entire Quran in just 2 years. There are simple, but effective ways that if you pay
attention to them, you will surely be able to memorize faster. If you really want to memorize but
struggle due to the language you speak or any other reasons, DO NOT WORRY, as I was in the
same place. This is why you have purchased this program to be able to memorize fast.

IMPORTANT: It does not matter at what age you are if you want to memorize. A myth goes
around that the older you get, the harder it gets for you to memorize which is NOT TRUE. If you
truly want to be able to memorize and believe that you can, my steps will help you achieve the
goal whether you are 7 or 70 years old.
The rest of this E-book will take you through 3 ways that you can memorize. You need to give
them a try and find out what works with you better.
Tips before Memorizing:
Environment:
It is really important for you to be in a quite environment. Noise can distract you from
memorizing. It is also recommended to put your phone on silent or turn notifications off.
Mindset:
What the mind of a person can believe, it can achieve. You should have a clear mindset that you
will memorize certain lines a day and you should believe it. Doing this puts the idea in your
subconscious mind and your brain is automated for memorization.
Clear Thoughts:
It is really crucial to have clear thoughts before memorizing. You can’t be thinking about your
work and problems while memorizing as it makes you distracted all the time. That is why we
recommend waking up early in the morning to memorize. Meditation can also be helpful.
Reciting Loud:
Although this is not necessary, it is extremely important and worked really well for me and many
of my students. It is advisable to be alone in a room and recite the lines out loud. This makes you
hear what you recite and 2x the speed of memorization. When you read out loud, try to have a
rhythm.
Have someone test you:
Have a friend or any family member to test whether if you have memorized well. Recite for them
and let them correct your when you make mistakes.
Important Fact: It takes 67 days to create a habit. If you could keep on memorizing as little
as you can for 67 days, it will be a habit and by the mercy of allah memorizing would be very
easy.
Way #1
The first way is really simple and could be used by anyone. This way is ideal specially for small
surahs of the Quran. Here are the steps:
1. Recite the first 3 lines 40 times while looking at the Quran
2. Listen to any reciter and repeat the first 3 lines 10 times while looking at the Quran
3. Listen to the reciter again and repeat the lines without looking at the Quran 10 times
4. Open the Quran and read the first line 5 times
5. Close the Quran and recite it with yourself
6. Repeat the first line 5 times
7. Open the Quran and read the first and second ayah 5 times
8. Close the book and recite it 5 times
9. Repeat the steps above
After doing the steps I mentioned above, you will notice how your mind will automatically
memorize the words.
Way #2
This way is a little bit more advanced, however my favorite way to memorize. The way is
recommended for big Surahs of Quran such as Surat-Yousuf. This is a strong way of
memorizing which will help you to even remember the place where certain ayat are located
exactly in the surah. The steps are mentioned below:
1. Decide which surah you will memorize (In this case let us choose Surat-Yousuf)
2. Go on google and search up the story of prophet Yousuf (PU), or even watch the movie
about prophet Yousuf.
3. Open the Quran and have a laptop or another phone in front of you with the screen on
quran.com
4. Begin the first ayah and make sure you know the meaning of every ayah
5. Try to relate the ayah you memorize with the story that you have heard
6. By clicking on every word on laptop, you will easily know its meaning
7. Repeat each ayah 20 times and also make sure you know that meaning of that ayah
8. After repeating, close the book and recite it.
By following this step, the whole sura will be like a story in your mind and you will be able to
picture the scene which helps you memorize really fast.
Way #3
This is an interesting way of memorizing the Quran, and works really well. For this way let us
choose Surat Yasin. Steps are below:
1. Recite the entire surah for at least 20 times a day (This can be spread throughout the day)
2. Recite it this way for about 10 days
After doing so, your brain will be really familiar with most of the words and you might know
most of the lines by heart, however, you might make so many mistakes. After the ten days is
over, go back to way #1 which was recommended for small surahs and apply it here. This way is
a real golden method and works absolutely well. At this point you mind is familiar with most of
the lines and would memorize them quickly. Memorizing 5 pages in a day is possible through
this method.
Important Tips to Consider
While-memorizing tips:
Be that early-bird person: Wake up before Fajr time and memorize your required pages. It’s an
advice given by most if not all Huffadh of the Qur’an.
Turn off your devices or set them on silent: To avoid distractions and to deeply focus on what
you intend to memorize.
Take a break: A ten-minute break is a really good refresher. Do it often.
Set time goals: Have a max goal of an hour/half an hour per page according to your ability, and
by time, the more you memorize the easier it becomes.
Revising Tips:
Try not to only memorize, always remember that the Qur’an is so easily forgotten, so give
yourself time to revise the pages you already memorized.
The best way to make sure that your memorization is perfect is to recite the page while you are
praying.
When-lazy tips:
Change your place and take a break!
Go back to your friends-list: Call or meet one of them. They will be there for you and your mood
will absolutely change.
Remind yourself with the many reasons why you started in the first place and why you should
continue in this unique journey with the Qur’an.
MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU
