PREFACE
Ruth Austin
Now in its sixteenth edition, The Grants Register continues to build on its reputation as the most comprehensive
international reference source available to students at or above graduate level, and all who require further
professional training/research, to facilitate their search for financial support.
In response to requests from both contributors and users alike, the format of The Grants Register has been
systematically revised, with the result that information is more comprehensive and accessible than in previous years.
We are extremely grateful to all the institutions which have supplied information for inclusion in this edition, and
would particularly like to thank the International Association of Universities for continued permission to use their
extensive subject index within our Subject and Eligibility Guide to Awards.
With fmancial resources increasingly stretched and students becoming ever more mobile, it is important that we
meet the demand for information. The Grants Register database is updated continually and if your organisation
provides grants eligible for inclusion and you would like to be listed in The Grants Register, please contact the
Editor for details. Alternatively, if you have any suggestions for improvements to the publication, please let us knOw.
