The Grants Register aims to provide full, current information on awards for nationals of the United
States and Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa and
the developing countries. However, as many of the awards listed are international in scope, the book
is also useful to students from other countries who are seeking exchange opportunities or international
scholarships.
In this tenth edition, the Subject Index has been further refined and cross-indexed so that users may
more quickly locate all the awards for which they may be eligible. All other sections of the book have
beenfullyrevised.
A new edition of The Grants Register appears every two years. The eleventh edition will be available
inAutumn 1988.
Weareextremelygrateful to allthe organizations listedin The GrantsRegisterand to the many agencies,
embassies, colleges and universities that have so readily offered information and advice. The generous
cooperation wehave receivedhas greatly assisted us in our aim to provide a detailed and comprehensive
surveyofawards.
