Notable fiction stories by Ellis include <i>The Huge Hunter; or, The Steam Man of the Prairies</i> and the <i>Deerfoot</i> novels, which were read widely by boys until the 1950s.<p>A word to the sensitive: The 19th and early 20th century used language differently than we do, and characters in these stories sometime use terms which might be considered mild racial slurs today, but not at the time the stories were written.
