Später wußte niemand mehr, ob die Riesendschunke nur einen Warnschuß hatte abfeuern wollen, oder ob der Schuß das Signal zur Eröffnung des Kampfes war. Jedenfalls flog auf der "Isabella" der Bugspriet samt Blinde weg, und da schlugen die Seewölfe mit einer vollen Breitseite zurück. Und die saß! Denn ein oder mehrere Treffer mußten die Pulverkammern der Dschunke erwischt haben...</p>
