Dear Frank:
I am trying to track down two half cents. I would appreciate any help
you may give me with respect to their current location or chain of
ownership after the printed material.
1) A few years ago, I read somewhere about a Liberty Cap half cent struck
over a Massachusetts half cent. Do you know where this reference
was? Can you verify that it was an accurate description? Do you
know where the coin is now?
2) Price list #26 of the St. Louis Stamp and Coin Company (Burdette
G. Johnson) lists a 1795 half cent overstruck on an Immunis Columbia
cent (see attached). Have you ever heard of this coin? Do you know
of any subsequent ownership, including the present location of the
coin?
I would certainly appreciate any help that you can give me on these
questions. Thanks very much.
