ESA Completes Five-Year Eagle P3 Contract on DIA Line
PROJECT completion
Eagle P3 is the first major U.S. transportation project to use a public-
private partnership (P3) to finance, design, build, maintain and operate
the system over 34 years. Denver Transit Partners (DTP) holds the
project concession.
The maiden voyage of Denver’s FasTracks A Line to DIA in mid-
April marked the conclusion of a five-year, $16.7-million contract for
environmental remediation and demolition services by Denver-based Earth
Services & Abatement Inc. (ESA).
Eagle P3, a multi-billion-dollar Denver transit project, ranked as the
largest such venture in recent Colorado history.
ESA’s services covered 40 miles of rail corridor, connecting the city
to Denver International Airport and beyond. The project included three
commuter lines that wove through six local jurisdictions and across some of
Denver’s oldest, most historic and industrialized sectors.
Turnkey capability was a major asset to Eagle P3’s massive scope of
work. ESA crews, including demolition crews, were fully trained to handle
all planned and unplanned project challenges before the project began.
