Errorsoromissions, if any, astonames, dates, &c., will be immediatelyreported
totlieAdjutantOeneralbytheofficersconcerned.
Whenaregimentwas not musteredout in time to have that fact appearonthis
Eegister,therosterofitsofficersismadeuptoAugust31,1865,(exceptcoloredtroops.
Wherean organization is outofservice, the rosteris givenasitstoodatthedate
of musterout.
When,atanytime,oneorganizationistransferredtoorconsolidatedwithanother,
therosterofitsofficersis givenasitstoo3atthattime.
Intherosterthedateof eachofficer'srankisplacedoppositehisname.
The Orders issued subsequent to August 31, 1865, announcing brevet appoint-
ments, were not completedintime to enter the appointmentsontheregisterofthe
regimentsfromtheNewEnglandStates.
Wherethenamesof battlesinwhichorganizationshaveborneanhonorablepart,
andwhichthey are entitledtobear outheir colors, have been announcedinOrders
bytheDepartmentorMilitaryDivisionCommanders, theyaregiven at the head of
therosterofofficers.
The namesof enlisted menwho have received medals of honor are given at the
footoftherosterof officersof eachregiment.
Thedateoppositeeachofficer'snameinthelistofcasualties,isthedateofcasualty.
The letters "a. w. m." oppositeanamein the roster indicate that the'officer has
been appointed, but never mustered into the service of the United States in the
gradeinwhichheappears.—(Seeparagraphs 114and120MusteringRegulations.)
Inthe listofcasualtiesitalics indicate that the officer whose name appears itali-
cisedwasnotmusteredintoserviceinthegradeinwhichheappears.
