Abstract
Automaticassemblysystemhasbeencontinuouslydrawingattentionsincethebeginning
of the 20th century. Parts feeding system is one of the important subsystems. The parts
feedingsystemisusedfordeliveringbulkpartsintoseparatedindividualparts.Flexibleparts
feedergainsattentionbecauseoftheflexibilityandtheshortchangeover.However,duetothe
randomvibrationofthetoolingplateinthispartsfeeder,theefficiencyislow,especiallyfor
complicatedgeometryparts.
Studiesinthisthesisaredevelopmentsbasedonanindustrialprojecttosolvetheproblemof
randomvibration.Theproposedapproachistomakeuseofthestandingwavescreatedby
thepiezoelectricactuatorsonthetoolingplate.Therefore,theinvestigationfocusmainlyon
twoaspects:resonanceanalysisandthemechanicalinteraction.
Withregardtoresonanceanalysis,wefirstlyinvestigatethepiezoelectricactuator’sdimensions
andtheinfluenceontheplateamplitude.Wediscoverthatbiggerthepiezoelectricactuatoris,
largerthevibratingamplitudeis. Wealsofindthatforapiezoelectricactuatorwithagiven
surface,piezoelectricactuator’sshapecanbemodifiedtoincreasetheamplitude.Thelarger
edgeofthepiezoelectricactuatorshouldbeorientatedconsistencywiththebendingdirection.
Thelimitofthedimensionandshapemodificationisthatthelargeredgeofthepiezoelectric
actuatorshouldbesmallerthanthehalfwavelengthoftheresonantmode. Secondly, we
studytheplategeometryinfluenceontherelativenodallinespositionbetweenmodes.The
length-to-widthratiochangesthenodallinepositions.Weproposeaparameter,whichrelates
therelativedistancebetweenthenodalpositionsoftwosuccessivemodesandthewavelength
ofthesecondmode,asthefirststepforplateoptimization.
Withregardtothemechanicalinteraction,wefirstlystudythepart’sverticaldisplacement
underaresonantvibratingplate.Numericalsimulations,validatedbyexperimentsofthepart’s
verticaldisplacementshowthatwecanobtainacertainverticaldisplacementbyeitherahigh
vibratingfrequencywithlowamplitudeoralowerfrequencywithhigheramplitude.Wealso
studythehorizontalmovementfromanti-nodestonodes.Theestablishedmodelconsiders
theamplitudevariationfromanti-nodetonode. Part’sverticaldisplacementislimitedto
smallvaluetoavoidparts’randommovement.Thisleadstoaslowhorizontalmovement.
Weapplytheaforementionedresearchestothreeapplications.Firstly,forpartsseparation,
twodesirablestandingwavesareusedtoseparatetheparts.Thetwomodesshouldsatisfythis
condition:theanti-nodesofthefirstmodearethenodesofthesecondmodeandthenodesof
thefirstmodearetheanti-nodesofthesecondmode.Thepredicablepositions(nodes)on
theplatecouldbeusedtoreducetherandomvibrationintheexistingpartsfeeder.Secondly,

aseriesofmodesinarectangularplateisobtainedtotransportthepartsinonedirection
continuously.Thedesirablemodesareobtainedbyadjustingthelength-to-widthratioofthe
plate.Aprototypeismanufacturedandusedtotransportthepartinonedirection.Thirdly,
degeneratedmodesinthesquareplateareusedtocreatequasi-travellingwave.Simulations
andcorrespondingexperimentsarecarriedout.

siècle.Undescomposantsimportantdecesderniersestl’élémentd’alimentationenpièces.
Safonctionprincipaleestd’ordonnerlespiècesstockées’envrac’afinqu’ellespuissentêtre
saisiesuneparuneparlesystèmedepréhensionetcecipourlesmanipulerparlasuitedans
lebutdeleurassemblagefinal.Lessystèmesd’alimentationflexiblesdeviennentintéressants
de par leur versatilité. Cependant, en raison de la vibration stochastique des pièces, leur
rendementestfaible,surtoutpourdespiècesdegéométriecomplexe.
Lestravauxdéveloppésdanscettethèsesontbaséssurunprojetindustrieldontlebutest
derésoudreleproblèmedevibrationaléatoire.Lasolutionenvisagéeestd’utiliserdesondes
stationnairescrééesparlesactionneurspiézoélectriquessurunplateau.Lesrecherchesse
concentrerontprincipalementsurdeuxaspects:lephénomènederésonancemécaniqueet
l’interactionmécaniqueentreuneplaquevibranteetunepièceunitaire.
Pourlapartieconcernantlarésonance,nousexamineronstoutd’abordl’influencedesdimen-
sionsdel’actionneurpiézoélectriquesurl’amplitudedevibrationd’uneplaquemécanique.
Nousverronsquepluslasurfacedel’actionneurestgrande,plusl’amplitudedevibrationest
importante.Danslecasd’unesurfacedel’actionneurdonnée,laformedecelui-cipeutêtre
modifiéepourenaugmenterl’amplitude.Leplusgrandcotédel’actionneurpiézoélectrique
doitaussiêtreorientédanslamêmedirectionquelaflexion.Latailledel’actionneurpiézo-
électriquenedoitcependantpasêtreplusgrandequelademi-longueurd’ondedumodede
résonance.Dansunsecondtemps,nousétudieronsl’influencedelagéométriedelaplaque
surlapositiondeslignesnodalesrelativesentrelesmodes.Lerapportlongueursurlargeur
modifieeneffetcespositions.Nousproposeronsunparamètrequiserapporteàladistance
relativeentrelespositionsnodalesdedeuxmodessuccessifsetdelalongueurd’ondedu
deuxièmemode.Cecipermettradecaractériserlecomportementd’uneplaquedonnéeet
pourraêtreutilepourunefutureétaped’optimisationdelaplaque-outil.
Encequiconcernel’interactionmécanique,nousétudieronstoutd’abordledéplacement
verticaldelapiècecrééparuneplaquemiseenrésonance.Dessimulationsnumériques,
validéespardesexpériences,montrerontquenouspouvonsobteniruncertaindéplacement
vertical soit en combinant une fréquence de vibration élevée avec une faible amplitude
oualorsunefréquenceplusbassemaisavecuneamplitudeplusélevée.Nousétudierons
égalementlemouvementhorizontald’unepièceallantduventreverslenœuddevibration.
Lemodèleétablitiendracomptedelavariationd’amplitudeentrelesventresetlesnœuds.

Cesdifférentspointsderechercheserontillustrésautraversdetroisapplications.Toutd’abord,
deuxondesstationnairesserontcombinéespourséparerlespièces.Cesdeuxmodesdoivent
satisfairelaconditionsuivante:lesventresdupremiermodesontlesnœudsdusecondmode,
etlesnœudsdupremiermodesontlesventresdusecondmode.Lespositionsprédéterminées
(nœuds)surlaplaqueserontutiliséespourconnaîtrelapositiondespiècessansavoirrecours
àunsystèmedevision.D’autrepart,unesériedemodesseradéterminéeetutiliséepour
transporterlespiècesd’unpointàunautre.Lesmodespertinentsserontobtenusenréglantle
rapportlongueursurlargeurdelaplaque.Unprototypeviendravaliderlapartieconcernant
le transport de pièces. Enfin, des modes particuliers, qu’on appelle « dégénérés », seront
utiliséspourcréeruneondequasi-progressive.Dessimulationsetdesexpériencesviendront
confirmercettedernièreétude.
