AGING SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL. Twenty-nine (29) members appointed to three (3)
year terms with two (2) members appointed by City Council to represent the City of Savannah on
the Coastal Georgia Regional Redevelopment Center Aging Services Advisory Council. The
membership of the Aging Services Advisory Council consists of persons over 60 years of age or
consumers, aging advocates, other interested individuals, and local elected officials, one whom
should be a minority. This Council meets quarterly in Richmond Hill, Georgia and from time to time
meets with staff to review budgets; get updates on new programs; and provides input on how current
and new programs are developed.

COASTAL REGION METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION BOARD (CORE
MPO). Thirty (30) members, with three (3) appointed by City Council to two-year (2) terms. The
CORE MPO Board shall serve as the forum for cooperative decision - making with regard to
transportation - related issues in the CORE MPO’s Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA). The CORE
MPO Board has the primary responsibility for the formulation of transportation - related policies in

COASTAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD (CWDB). The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity
Act of 2014 authorizes the Board to collaborate across systems in an effort to better address the employment and
skills needs of current employees, jobseekers and employers. The focus is to provide education or training
opportunities that will assist regional workers in achieving a family sustaining wage while providing employers
with the skilled workers they need to compete in the workforce. The composition of the CWDB is made up of
federally mandated partners, businesses, local educational agencies, and community-based organizations with
demonstrated experience and expertise in addressing the needs and skills gap of individuals with barriers to
employment. Appointments to the Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB) are made by the Consortium of
Local Elected Officials within Region 12, which includes ten-counties: Bryan, Glynn, Chatham, Long, Bulloch,
Camden, Effingham, Liberty, McIntosh and Screven. Appointed representatives must have a genuine interest in
improving the quality of the region’s workforce while representing their county, respectively. The term of
membership is three (3) years. The appointed can represent the local region by residing or working in the
City/County.
