SECTION 01011 - SUMMARY OF PROJECT

PART 1 GENERAL

1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A. The Project will be constructed under a multiple prime-contracting
arrangement. Prime Contracts are contracts between SEPTA and separate
contractors, representing significant construction activities. Each Prime
Contract is performed concurrently with and closely coordinated with
construction activities performed on the Project under other Prime Contracts.
The Prime Contracts for this Project comprise:

1. General Construction Contract (GC)
2. Mechanical Construction Contract (MC)
3. Electrical Construction Contract (EC)

B. The Coordinating Contractor will be the General Construction Contractor.
C. Definition of Extent of Prime Contract Work: The Contract Documents contain

the Specification Sections that determine which Prime Contractor performs a
specific element of the Project.

1.05 GENERAL CONTRACTOR (GC)

A. The General Construction Contract includes architectural, site, restoration and
structural plus other construction operations traditionally recognized as
General Construction. It also includes administrative and coordination
responsibilities. Work under this Prime Contract includes, but is not limited to,

1. All temporary facilities and services:
a. Site Access
b. Field engineering
c. Maintenance and protection of vehicles, pedestrians.
d. Maintenance and protection of roadway and pedestrian traffic.
e. Temporary trailer(s) and staging area(s)
f. Dumpsters for use by all Contractors.
g. Temporary utilities (power, HVAC, etc.)

i. Daily clean up
