Ein Buch kann nur im Team entstehen. Wir möchten allen Teammitgliedern unseren herzlichen Dank
aussprechen für ihre wertvolle Mitarbeit. Vor allem sind da die Autoren zu nennen. Ohne ihren Einsatz
kann ein solches Werk nicht wachsen. Viel Arbeit haben sie investiert, Regularien beachtet, das Kor-
rekturlesen aufmerksam durchgeführt – und dies in aller Regel parallel zu ihrem Hauptberuf.
Einige Kapitel wurden aus anderen Werken übernommen, mehr oder weniger bearbeitet oder erwei-
tert. Dies war insbesondere dann sinnvoll, wenn die Inhalte aus dem Überschneidungsgebiet von Äs-
thetischer Chirurgie und Dermatologie stammen, wie bspw. bei den benignen Tumoren oder bei der
laserassistierten Liposuktion. An dieser Stelle danken wir herzlich den Herausgebern Prof. Dr. Chris-
tian Raulin und Dr. Bärbel Greve und den jeweiligen Kapitel autoren des Buches »Laser- und IPL-Tech-
nologie in der Dermatologie und Ästhetischen Medizin«, aus dem mit freundlicher Genehmigung des
Schattauer-Verlags Inhalte und Bilder übernommen werden durften. Weiterhin möchten wir den He-
rausgebern Prof. Dr. Christian Raulin und Dr. Syrus Karsai sowie den jeweiligen Kapitel autoren des
Springer-Werkes »Lasertherapie der Haut« danken für die Möglichkeit, Texte und Abbildungen in das
vorliegende Buch aufnehmen zu dürfen. Die Übernahmen sind in den Kapiteln und bei den betreffen-
den Bildern gekennzeichnet.
Die besten Autoren und Herausgeber genügen nicht, um ein gutes Buch zu produzieren. Die Unter-

Vorwort
Das Vorwort in einem Fachbuch liest eigentlich niemand. Die Eine und der Andere tut es offenbar
doch. Das mag seinen Grund in einer besonders gründlich intendierten Lektüre haben. Diese Heran-
gehensweise an die Lasermedizin ist sehr angemessen, denn aus der Perspektive chirurgischer Diszi-
plinen in der Ästhetischen Medizin ist schon allein die Vielfalt des Instrumentariums mit seinen bio-
logischen, physikalischen, klinischen, gerätetechnischen und auch ökonomischen Besonderheiten
zunächst unüberschaubar.
Ein weiterer Grund für die Lektüre des Vorworts kann darin bestehen, einen etwas längeren Anlauf
zum Sprung in die hochinterdisziplinäre Ästhetische Chirurgie zu nehmen. Hier kommen viele Fach-
arztgebiete mit ihrem Spezialwissen zusammen und auf dermatologisch-sozialisierte Leserinnen und
Leser wirkt das operative Vorgehen plastisch-chirurgischer Fächer gelegentlich so anspruchsvoll wie
gefährlich.
Ein dritter Grund für die ausgiebige Beschäftigung mit dem Vorwort kann mit Geduld zu tun haben.
Geduld ist eine wichtige Voraussetzung für erfolgreiche Ästhetische Chirurgie und für die Entwicklung
lasermedizinischer Ergebnisse ohnehin. Ärztinnen und Ärzte aus chirurgischen Fächern müssen sich
oft in hautärztlicher Geduld üben, wenn sie ein ästhetisch makelloses Ergebnis erzielen wollen.
Geduld ist auch ein besonders schöner Ausdruck von Freundlichkeit. Wir danken Ihnen für dieses
freundliche Interesse, das Sie der Thematik der Lasermedizin in der Ästhetischen Chirurgie entgegen
bringen. Und sogar dem Vorwort des vorliegenden Fachbuches!
