Mit der Krise befindet sich auch das hinter der Globalisierung stehende theoretische Modell des Neoliberalismus im Niedergang; viele seiner Theoretiker, die jahrelang das Lied von den sich selbst regulierenden Märkten gesungen haben, rufen nun lauthals nach dem Staat. Mit sinkenden Lohnquoten und Sozialabbau haben die Lohnabhängigen die schamlosen Bereicherungsprogramme der Besserverdienenden bezahlt. Doch Nerzmäntel kaufen keine Nerzmäntel, die fehlende Massenkaufkraft führt zu Halden unverkäuflicher Waren. Die Party ist vorbei. Michel Husson, geb. 1949, Dr. rer. oec., französischer Wirtschaftswissenschaftler und Statistiker, ist Mitglied des wissenschaftlichen Beirats von Attac Frankreich und Mitarbeiter des »Institut de Recherches Economiques et Sociales« (IRES).
