Intheageofdigitaltransformation,artificialintelligence(AI)andbigdataareplaying
akeyroleinprocessingthedatatobeconvertedintoknowledgeanddecisions.With
therapidgrowthinthenumberofnewlyconfirmedandsuspectedCOVID-19cases
in2020,COVID-19extremelythreatenspublichealth,countries’economic,social
lifeandtheinternationalrelationsaroundtheworld.InthefightagainstCOVID-19,
AItechniquesandbigdataanalyticshaveplayedasignificantroleinmanyaspects.
Moreover,AI,bigdata,InternetofthingsandBlockchain-driventechnologiespresent
visualizationforCOVID-19outbreakinformationthathelpsindetectingriskallo-
cation and regional transmissions. Thus, many researchers have been developing
specializedtoolsusingAItechniquesandbigdataanalytictoolsforearlyprediction
anddiagnosisofCOVID-19casestocontributetoitscontainmentbeforespreading.
Thesemodelshadbeenagreathelptocliniciansanddecision-makersformaking
the appropriate recommendations for treatments. The value of integrating AI and
big data tools strongly will provide clinicians and decision-makers with helpful
information on COVID-19 disease, which will reduce their efforts. Thanks to its
highabilitytoisolateandpickfeatures,AItechniqueshavetodaybeenusedinthe
medicalimagingdomain.Machineanddeeplearningtechnologyisprimarilyapplied
toidentifyanddistinguishpediatricviralpneumoniaandbacteria.
Somerecenttechnologiessuchasunmannedaerialvehicle(UAV)ordronesare
usedtodetecttheinfectedpeopleindifferentareasinthesamecountry.Inaddition,
robotsareusedinfightingtheCOVID-19byprotectingtheworkersandstaffpeople
whoaredealingwithinfectedpeople.Ontheotherhand,othertechnologysuchas
roboticsplaysanimportantroleinsavingthelifeofmedicalstaffduringCOVID-19
pandemicandtoassistpatientsduringthetreatmentprocess.
Blockchain technology will play an important role with COVID-19 in securing
manytransactionsanddealinginstrictconfidentiality,aspatient’simagetransmis-
sion, digital and statistical data related to the patients. In addition, the adoption of
Bitcoinasanofficialcurrencyalternativetobanknotescurrenciesinordertoavoid
thetransmissionandspreadofinfectionisagreatchallengeforgovernments.
