This book is dedicated to the memory of Pennsylvania Game Commission
forester Robert Bauer (1946–2002) and Pennsylvania State University
Extension forester Roe (Sandy) Cochran (1925–1991) for their
contributions to deer and forest management. These men promoted
deer management that integrated and weighed equally wildlife
and forestry sciences and management practices—a new concept
25 years ago and critically important today.
