Although interested in art from a young age, Mike did not begin his designing career
until 1992. Dissatisfied with his career in the computer field, he quit and then began
working for a cross-stitch company. Within a year he left the company and began
working as a free-lance designer.
Becoming a free-lance designer allowed him to work from his home office and spend
more time with his wife, Amy, and his two children, Justin and Maegan.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys jogging, music, sports, and gardening in the yard of his
home in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains.
A talented fine artist as well, he is a member of the Etowah Arts Council. His fine art is
on display at the Etowah Art Gallery in Cartersville, Georgia.
Mike was excited to be able to create the designs in this book. He was not familiar with
Celtic art and enjoyed learning the history of this unique style. He appreciated the
challenge of creating designs this rich, detailed and fascinating.
