Constance Bantman is a Lecturer at the University of Surrey. Her research
focusesonthehistoryoftheanarchistmovementandtradeunionsinFrance
and Britain up to 1914, as well as transnational history and international
networks.
AurélieBaudry-PalmerisaresearcherwithaPhDthesisonclassandsocial
relations in Victorian Bristol. Her research interests include nineteenth-
century history, philanthropy, labour history, popular culture, friendly
societies,andreligioushistory.
Anne Beauvallet is a Senior Lecturer in British Studies at the Université
Toulouse-Le Mirail and she belongs to its research group (Cultures Anglo-
Saxonnes).ShehaspublishedseveralpapersonBritisheducationpolicies.
Emma Bell is a Senior Lecturer at the Université de Savoie where she
teachesBritishHistoryandPolitics.SheistheauthorofCriminalJusticeand
Neoliberalism andcurrentcoordinatoroftheEuropeanGroupfortheStudy
ofDevianceandSocialControl.
ShaneBlackmanisProfessorofCulturalStudiesatCanterburyChristchurch
University; he has conducted research into sociological and ethnographic
aspects of young people’s culture. His most recent book is Chilling Out: The
CulturalPoliticsofSubstanceConsumption,YouthandDrugPolicy.
SueBond-TaylorisaSeniorLecturerinCriminologyintheSchoolofSocial
and Political Sciences at the University of Lincoln. Her research focuses
onyouthcrimeprevention,anti-socialbehaviour,familyinterventionsand
‘troubled’families.
Colin Clark is Professor of Sociology and Social Policy at the University
of the West of Scotland (UWS). His principle research interests lie within
the broad field of ethnic and racial studies, with a particular concern for
migration,RomaniStudies,multiculturalismandintersectionality.
Neil DavieisProfessorofBritishHistoryattheUniversitéLumièreLyon2.
He has published widely on penal policy and criminology in the Victorian
andEdwardianperiods.He is theauthorof Tracing the Criminal:The Rise of
ScientificCriminologyinBritain,1860–1918.
