Another Place to Die
It was the secret China didn’t want the world to know, 200,000 people died
suddenly in Jiangsu province. A new lethal flu virus is literally flying around the
whole world. Everything your Government said would protect you is a lie.
There will be no effective vaccine for six months.
Make a choice. Escape to remote islands – or try to tough it out. There’s
growing panic in the city, people are literally falling down dead in the streets.
There are rumours of mass graves being dug. Europe has already succumbed as
emergency systems are overwhelmed. Despite mass vaccination, will the same
happen in Canada and the USA? People are scared – martial law is certain.
Fen, aged 15, is dragged by her family to a tiny Gulf Island off Canada’s west
coast to ‘ride it out.’ Deka, an immigrant cabbie in Vancouver, is convinced he can
survive the flu, thanks to his vaccination by Dr Borov, another immigrant. The
Russian, Borov is a former virologist who will treat anyone desperate enough to fill
their veins with his home-made antiviral soup. Arno Lakis, an analyst with
‘Futuretank Inc’ in Toronto, has seen all the emergency scenarios – hell, he wrote
some of them. He knows just how bad it’s going to get. He heads west to Rachel. If
everything is unravelling, he wants to be with her to the end.
Do you stay? Stockpile enough food and water for sixty days and pray the
looters don’t get you, or escape and hope the virus doesn’t get there before you?
