It gives me great pleasure to transmit to you the Alberta Municipal Comparative
Information report. In it you will find a variety of comparable information about municipalities
in Alberta and their taxation of residential properties. This information is designed to help
municipal and other decision makers monitor the development and performance of the municipal
organization.
The Alberta Municipal Comparative Information (AMCI) replaces and builds upon the
% information published by Alberta Municipal Affairs in previous years as the Residential
Property Survey. Each of the self contained tables through which the AMCI information is
presented can be used alone or in conjunction with the other tables. Individual tables will be
periodically updated, and new and different information and tables may be added. An
introduction and table notes provide a complete user's guide to each table. A summary of the
data presented in each table by type of municipality is provided as a quick reference. These
reference notes also help you to use the data and detail how statistics are calculated or from
where they are derived.
As always, I welcome your comments and suggestions for improving The Alberta
Municipal Comparative Information and its potential value to your work.
