How to search into the Resource catalogue using the
"Find" function?

Step 1

Press the "Ctrl" key (lower left of your keyboard) and the letter "F" key
simultaneously. A little pop-up window will appear.

Step 2

Enter a keyword (p.ex. Routine) and press "Enter".

Step 3

Your keyword will be highlighted in the title or text of each item that
contains that word. Click on the arrow (< or v depending on your web
browser) and you will be brought to the next place your keyword has been
found.

* You can also use the advance "Find" fonction by pressing the "Ctrl" +
"Shift" + "F" key simultaneously.

Introduction...

Children's Integration Support Services operates a Resource Library located at Andrew Fleck Child
Care Services main office - 700 Industrial Ave. Suite 600, Ottawa (736-1913). Child care staff,
parents, professionals, and the community are invited to use the resource books, DVDs,
assessment tools and other materials available through the library.

Section 1 (one) of this catalogue provides detailed information on the policies and procedures,
costs and hours of operation while sections 2 (two) through 7 (seven) list the various materials
available for loan and reference.

This catalogue lists resource materials in numerical order, using the following classification and

brief description of resource

Resource materials are placed on library shelves according to the classification of the resource,
its subject code and number. The resource book listed above can be found in the RBE section of
the library in numerical order. i.e. RBE 01, RBE 02, RBE 03 ... RBE 101, RBE 102, RBE 103 ...,
as well as by its subject code and related colour. (A listing of related colours to each subject code
is posted in the library).

Library Policies and Procedures

1. Library membership:
∗ all library users are requested to fill out a library membership form before borrowing
items

2. Loan period:
∗ resource items may be borrowed for 4 weeks
∗ the member is entitled to one renewal if the item(s) has not been requested by
another member

3. Overdue items:
∗ the member will be charged $0.25 per day for each overdue resource item

4. Loss/damage:
∗ the member is required to return the resource items in the condition that they were
received
∗ any replacement cost will be charged to the member

5. Limit to the number of library items signed out:
∗ the number of resource items that a member can sign out may be limited due to
demand

6. Reservations:
∗ reservations can be made through front reception (613-736-5355), CISS Secretary
(613-736-1913 ext. 244), or Intake & Resource Coordinator (613-736-1913 ext. 231)

7. Procedure for obtaining resource items:
Library resources must be signed out and returned in person through front reception at
700 Industrial Ave. Suite 600.
∗ the CISS Resource Library is open weekdays between the hours of 8:30 am and
4:30 pm
∗ it is recommended that a new member make an appointment to be shown how to
use the library or if support is required in locating particular subject information
∗ courier service can be arranged and paid for by the member
