Chapter 1396: 1396: Identity Exposed (Part 4)

Xiu Xi saw how much she wanted to go out, so he agreed and they arranged to meet at Qing University’s affiliated middle school’s basketball court after lunch.
Finally, she could go out, and it was to Qing University’s affiliated middle school. On the way back, she could also meet up with Ruan Hao and come back together. Ruan Jiaojiao felt happy at the thought, and her steps became much lighter.
For lunch, Ruan Jiaojiao had duck meat. The Ruanlin Family cooked a duck leg for her, peeled off the skin once it was done, tore the duck leg meat into strips, and let Ruan Jiaojiao eat.
Having the long-missed meat, Ruan Jiaojiao felt incredibly satisfied.
Her entire cat body seemed filled with happiness, and it was the kind with pink bubbles all over.
After lunch, Ruan Jiaojiao and Xiu Xi headed out. Since they were some distance from Qing University’s affiliated middle school, they took a nap in the car for an hour to save time.
It was already mid-October, and even though it was midday, the sun wasn’t too hot. It felt warm and comforting on the skin.
As soon as Xiu Xi lifted her out of the car, Ruan Jiaojiao woke up, stretched comfortably, and lifted her head to see the three people coming over in the distance with a basketball.
Duan Qianyang, no longer wearing a neatly tailored suit, was dressed in casual clothes, which seemed to take ten years off his age, making him incredibly handsome. She was dazed for a moment until Xiu Xi pinched her little paw, snapping her out of it.
Apart from Duan Xin walking beside Duan Qianyang, there was another older man who also looked outstanding and resembled Duan Xin somewhat.
Ruan Jiaojiao guessed he must be the famous second uncle from the Duan Family known for his cleanliness.
Seeing Xiu Xi carrying the little yellow kitten again, Duan Qianyang didn’t quite understand: “Why are you carrying the cat again? Do you really like cats that much?”
He looked at the kitten, now plump and round compared to half a month ago, all the way from head to toe.
Its eyes had lost the bluish tinge and turned yellow-brown, but even so, to him, it still seemed like just a regular kitten, nothing special that would make Xiu Xi want to carry it everywhere.
After asking, seeing Xiu Xi had no intention of answering, he could only change the subject, pointing to the second uncle, saying: “This is your second uncle. Today, our father-son team will face off against your cousin and second uncle and see who’s better.”
Ruan Jiaojiao heard this and looked at the second uncle, surprised that he was really there to play basketball.
Ever since Ruan Jiaojiao’s incident, Xiu Xi hadn’t played basketball either, especially spending time with her in the Shu Family’s garden recently without exercising. Today was a good chance to stretch his muscles.
He laid the blanket he specially brought on the wooden bleacher at the side of the basketball court, then placed Ruan Jiaojiao on it, even prepared some small Xiaoyin fish for her to eat while watching. Worried she might be thirsty after eating dried fish, he also placed a cup lid of warm water beside her.
While he was doing this, the three men watched from the side.
Especially Duan Xin, who was thoroughly shocked. He felt he was once again validating his previous thought that there truly wasn’t anyone normal in the Duan Family except him!
When Xiu Xi finished settling Ruan Jiaojiao and knelt down gently asking if everything was alright, confirming she had no issues, he stood up and headed to the middle of the basketball court with the three men.
Father-son face-off with father-son, the rules were simple, mainly just defense and shooting.
Ruan Jiaojiao had seen Xiu Xi play basketball before and knew he was really skilled. Even before the game started, she was already waving her little paws.
