Chapter 670: 654: The Evil God Returns Home

Given that Qin Liuxi kept a close eye on him, Master Chi Yuan dared not defy her intentions and use the Da Yan Skill, even though he knew her talk of parting ways was a joke; he still wouldn’t dare.
Little Ya had grown up, her thoughts keener and more sensitive, fearing his departure.
Then let’s wait a bit longer, as she now has disciples of her own, and given more time, she will have someone by her side and won’t be so lonely.
As for Chi Zhenzi, a trace of cold severity flashed through Master Chi Yuan’s eyes.
Even at the cost of his old life, he intended to knock him back into the dust.
Far away, Chi Zhenzi looked at the sky, his gaze deep. The time was not yet right, but the time for the brothers to meet again would come, and then, they would settle all past grudges together.
Seeing that the old man had calmed down, Qin Liuxi pulled him aside and spoke of Chi Zhenzi’s destroyed lair, insisting softly and firmly that he go into seclusion there.
Master Chi Yuan did not want to go and said grudgingly, “That’s one of his lairs; you want me to take over his nest and use me as bait to lure him out?”
As if reminded by these words, Qin Liuxi exclaimed, “Hey, that’s actually a good idea. I’ll set up another killing array there; you’ll be the bait. If he dares to come, we’ll capture him in one fell swoop!”
Master Chi Yuan’s beard lost another hair, and pointing his trembling finger at her, he finally managed to say, “You’ve actually been plotting to take over the Daoist Temple all along, haven’t you?”
Is this still his beloved disciple, trying to forcefully drag him to Liang Mountain!
She’s practically filial to death!
Qin Liuxi glanced sideways at him: “It’s a two-birds-one-stone situation, not a waste at all. Besides, aren’t you secretly wanting to use the Da Yan Skill to locate him? No need to plot; just wait for him to fall into the trap!”
Master Chi Yuan felt utterly exhausted, figuring that one day he would be angered to death!
Completely subduing the old man, Qin Liuxi was very satisfied and hummed a tune as she took out the Ghost Drum she brought back from Shengjing and summoned the residual soul of Dai Rong, which had been nurtured in the Soul Nourishing Bottle.
After some time nourished, Dai Rong’s residual soul had solidified considerably, and listened daily to Teng Zhao’s sutra recitations for transcending spirits, her great vengeance having been avenged, her resentful energy dissolved, revealing a soul body that still bore the beautiful traces of her life.
Qin Liuxi intended to send her to the Underworld.
Dai Rong hesitated to ask, “Can I not reincarnate? May I stay by your side?”
Qin Liuxi shook her head: “I’ve already told you, if you seek revenge, you must bear the karmic debts. Once underground, all these will be accounted for; you can’t escape, nor can you stay.”
Dai Rong’s expression darkened, but she quickly smiled: “I understand.”
Being able to persist in this world was already her gain; to ask for more would be her greed.
Seeing her let go of her worries, Qin Liuxi then summoned Black Impermanence to take her away and also mentioned Wei Xie’s situation, arranging an identity for him.
Black Impermanence clapped his hands: “You have been so thorough in your considerations. Honestly, we are currently understaffed below; we need to devote manpower to search for the pestilent Si Luo and maintain the order of the underworld. There are more in line for reincarnation than before, and more people dying in the human world than we have hands to hook souls, resulting in some evildoers who continue to cause harm after death, attacking those innocent yin souls. King Yama and our administrators had a meeting about this, thinking of appointing some living souls temporarily as Life Impermanence to help us somewhat. Having one from your side alleviates our urgent need.”
Whether the candidate was a living or dead soul, as long as Qin Liuxi approved, they would be fit for use, regardless of whether they were alive or dead.
Qin Liuxi frowned and asked, “Is the daily death toll high? Are these natural deaths or untimely deaths?”
Black Impermanence paused, then answered, “Both. But now that you mention it, it seems there have indeed been more deaths this year than last.”
In the cycle of life and death, where there is death, there is life; the deaths of many dictates the reincarnation anew of souls, maintaining the balance of yin and yang.
But Qin Liuxi casually mentioned something that felt a bit off. Nowadays, the Underworld was brimming with ghosts waiting to be reincarnated; this shouldn’t be happening. Could it be that the artificial people in the human world were slacking off?
Black Impermanence became somewhat restless. He still needed to go back and check with the old judge to see if there was anything that had been overlooked.
“Due to the rush, I don’t have the Identity Token and the related Soul Hook Chain either. I’ll go back and apply for a set and then deliver it to Wei Xie. Lao Hei, I will take my leave first. See you later.”
Qin Liuxi nodded, “Go ahead.”
Dai Rong deeply bowed to her and Teng Zhao, expressing her gratitude. If it were not for their mentorship, she would have scattered and ceased to exist.
Two Merit Golden Lights flew into their spiritual platforms.
Teng Zhao was overjoyed.
“You’ve put your heart into it. In the future, there will be many opportunities to accumulate merit. You must strengthen your Dao Heart,” Qin Liuxi patted his shoulder.
Teng Zhao nodded.
After seeing off Dai Rong, Qin Liuxi didn’t stay in the Daoist Temple any longer and hurried back to Feichang Dao, urging Wei Xie to settle down there while she took her two disciples back to the Qin family.
She had left home in March, and now it was already May, with the Dragon Boat Festival approaching in just a few days. When Qin Liuxi re-entered the residence, she unexpectedly heard laughter within.
She paused slightly, glanced briefly, and then headed to the side courtyard.
“Ah, the Evil God is back!” Little Ginseng Spirit was the first to detect Qin Liuxi’s presence, jumping out of the ground and rushing toward the courtyard door.
Qi Huang was initially embroidering under the eaves, but upon hearing this, she stood up and had only taken a couple of steps when she saw Qin Liuxi at the entrance.
“You are back,” Qi Huang went up to her, frowning slightly, and said reproachfully, “How come you’ve lost weight again? Don’t they feed you well in Shengjing?”
“I missed you thin,” Qin Liuxi teased with a smile.
“Always so cheeky,” Qi Huang sized her up, commenting, “Though you’ve slimmed down, you also seem to have grown a bit taller.”
She then looked towards Teng Zhao; the boy had grown taller too, but his expression was also more resolute. She wondered what he had been through.
Teng Zhao bowed to her, then turned his gaze to the Little Ginseng Spirit hiding behind the bushes. He walked over and carefully picked it up in his hands.
The Little Ginseng Spirit’s plump body squirmed a bit, saying somewhat bashfully, “You’re finally back.”
Teng Zhao flicked the leaves on its head, saying, “Your hairstyle is a mess. I’ll trim it for you later.”
The Little Ginseng Spirit stiffened. The past misery, dominated by this small OCD sufferer, was vividly recalled as if it were yesterday.
It swung its ginseng body nimbly, jumping down: “This is called disheveled beauty; your aesthetic is the problem.”
Damn it, just be a person, will you? Why must you obsess over its leaves?
Qin Liuxi glanced at the Little Ginseng Spirit, her eyes landing on the red berries on its head, “Not bad. Those two red berries on top of your head are mine now.”
The Little Ginseng Spirit quickly covered the red berries with its hands and stepped back, thinking that the Evil God got too excited upon returning home and forgot to hide the only two red berries.
Damn, what a blunder.
