Появление баллистических ракет подводных лодок внесло свои коррективы - за рубкой появился удлиненный отсек с вертикальными шахтами для 16 , а позднее для 24 ракет Посейдон или Трайдент. Одновременно подводные ракетоносцы перешли из разряда морского оружия в инструменты большой политики. В книге рассмотрены все типы послевоенных лодок , приведено много фотографий , эскизов и чертежей.
