Auggies Fotografieren ist rein privater Natur und die Aufnahmen sind Gegenst?nde seines Alltags. Die Dokumentation dessen, was sich innerhalb des eigenen kleinen Lebensumfeldes abspielt, ist die Hauptfunktion von Auggies fotografischer T?tigkeit. Er nimmt die kleinen, ja oft fast unmerklichen Ver?nderungen auf, die der Lauf der Zeit mit sich bringt, wozu z.B. auch der schlichte Wechsel der Jahreszeiten geh?rt. Der Zufall spielt dabei eine gro?e Rolle – wobei nach Siegfried Kracauer das fotografische Bild generell dazu tendiere das Zuf?llige aufzunehmen. 2 Die fotografische Besch?ftigung Auggies in and “Smoke and ” ist jedoch nur vordergr?ndig daf?r ausschlaggebend, dass Paul Austers und Wayne Wangs 1994 gedrehter Spielfilm in die Seminarfilmreihe and “Fotografen im Kino and ” aufgenommen und im Rahmen des Hauptseminars von Prof. Karl Pr?mm besprochen wurde. Im Folgenden sollen weiterf?hrende Gesichtspunkte, Besonderheiten und Merkmale des Films and “Smoke and “, in denen fotografische Elemente eine Rolle spielen, aufgezeigt und behandelt werden.
