3. Move the bolt and recoil springa ssem-
bly back until it stops,a nd lift it off the
receiver.
4. The bolt will probablyb e left in the receiverw hen the carrier and recoil springu nit are
rcmoved. If not, the bolt is
simply lifted out of the
caffler.

7. Remove for repairs only: to dismantlet he recoil spring,r est the rear tip on a firm
surface,p ull back the spring at the front, and move the
collar downward until it clearst he button and take it off
to the side. Caution: Control the spring.

11. Insert a drift through the hole in the head of the cleaning rod,
lift it out of its locking recess,a nd removei t toward the front.

safetyi n the on position. Use a suitablet ool to pusht he trigger
guard latch forward. When the latch releases,t he guard will jump
out slightly.

15. Caution: Theh amnters pring is powerful, bep re-
pared or you will haves mashedfingers. Put the safetyi n
the off position. Depresst he disconnectora bouth alf way.
Control the hammer and pull the trigger. Easet he hammer
down to fired position.I f the disconnectoris depressedto o
much, you will not be able to place the hammer in the
fired position.
16, Caution: Keep a tight grip on the hammer. In-
serta sturdyt ool in front of the hammer,a nd usei t to
lever the hammeru nit toward the rear until its pivot
studsa rec lear of the hooks. Take off the hammera nd
its springa nd guide. Holding the unit in a paddedv ise
is advisable.

canb e removedb y gripping a forward coil with sharpn osed
pliers and compressingi t slightly rearward,t hen tipping it
out.

and take out
the trigger

pin. In normal takedown, it is left in place. Recommended
takedown: ONIJ FOR REPAIRS.

ReassemblTy ips:
When replacing the trigger group in the gun, extremely sharp
shouldersa t the rear of the subframem ay causea seating
problem. Thesec an be easilyb eveled. Note: For installa-
tion of the trigger group, the manuals afetym ust be in the
safep osition. Rest the top of the receivero n a firm surface
as the guardu nit is pressedin to place.
When replacing the firing pin in the bolt, be sure
the retainings houlderi s on top. Also be suret he
retaineri s orientedt o fit into its recesso n the
right side(don ot force the retainingp in) " Shown
is the orientation for the firing pin in the bolt.
