<p>"Dice Andrea Càsoli che forse non è del tutto chiaro il titolo di questo libro. Per me invece è chiarissimo. Ovvio: la sindrome di Gertrude è quella che ha portato la Signora in questione, meglio nota come monaca di Monza, a rispondere di sì a uno che invece avrebbe fatto meglio a ignorare. Per passione, per noia, per ribellione, per curiosità, per sfinimento, perché sapeva resistere a tutto tranne che alle tentazioni. Ecco, io più o meno funziono così: quando mi chiedono qualcosa, tendo a rispondere di sì. L'idea che a qualcuno possa interessare un libro su di me, detto tra noi, continua un po' a turbarmi. Però in fondo mi piace, e anche tanto, e mi lusinga un po', anzi parecchio. A patto, naturalmente, che sia chiaro in partenza ciò che questo libro non è e non vuole essere: niente agiografia, niente pettegolezzo, niente eccesso di autoreferenzialità; piuttosto il gusto di provare a raccontare quella sorta di molteplicità che ha finito per caratterizzare la mia vita. Dunque, in sintesi (quella di Càsoli: io ne sono priva), in questo libro racconterò di carcere e cinema, scarpe e solidarietà, teatro e teiere, musica e memoria, doppiaggio e diritti civili; ma anche di musicisti, attrici, cantanti, scrittori, poetesse, stilisti (wow!), soubrette, registi, chirurghi, e soprattutto di quegli esseri di sovrumana generosità che vanno sotto l'etichetta riduttiva di "pubblico".
