DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
Residential Requirements:
1. License: Contractors must be licensed by the City of Shelton.
Additionally, if the contract amount is $10,000.00 or more, they must be
licensed with the State of Connecticut.
2. Permit: Permit is required for additions and accessory structures.
3. Accessory Structures: This includes but is not limited to; detached
garages; carports; storage building; green houses; and gazebos.

DEMOLITION PERMIT REQUIREMENTS
1. Health Clearance from Fairfield County Health Department.
2. Water Works Board Clearance
3. $200 Bond with City of Shelton Fin. Dept. for all

4. Demolition permit (Residential: $25, Accessory
buildings: $5) issued to licensed contractor or
to the owner from the Inspections Department.
5. Demolition completed within 90 calendar days
from the date of the permit.
