EDIC CORPORATE STRUCTURE
The Economic Development and Industrial Corporation ofBoston (EDIC) was created
through an act of the state legislature in 1971 to protect and encourage the growth of
manufacturing industries in Boston. Since 1971, EDIC has taken on new roles and
responsibilities to meet the challenges of Boston's changing economy. Those roles
include the development, management, and operation of industrial real estate facilities;
the financing ofbusiness operations and development projects; the provision ofbusiness
assistance and recruitment services; and the training of Boston residents to meetjob
opportunities in the city.
These roles are carried out by EDIC as the parent corporation, and its five affiliate
corporations. The EDIC corporate structure includes:
