About De Nederlandse Darwin
In 1907 stelde boswachter Bernelot Moens koningin Wilhelmina voor om apen en mensen te kruisen. Zo wilde hij bewijzen dat Darwin gelijk had met zijn evolutietheorie. Daarop vertrok hij in 1914 naar de Verenigde Staten, waar hij zijn plannen verder ontvouwde en krachtig aandrong op de raciale kruisingen, om zo de wereldvrede naderbij te brengen. Hiermee vestigde hij de aandacht van de FBI op zich, wat zou leiden tot een opzienbarend proces vanwege zijn onzedelijke en on-Amerikaanse activiteiten. Hij werd veroordeeld, in hoger beroep vrijgesproken, maar daarna snel het land uitgezet, waarna hij in Frankrijk als wereldberoemde antropoloog werd onthaald.
