Social Protection in Belgium
• The Belgian social welfare assures 3 functions:
- in case of loss of salary (unemployment, pension, industrial
disablement), you will receive an income of replacement;
- in case of certain "welfare costs" (of additional costs), such as the
education of children or the expenses of disease, you will receive a
supplement on the income;
- in case of absence of every type of income, you will receive services of
social assistance,
