might want to add [to the family story] is that Ed's grandfather on his
mom's side (Theodore Chorazak) had the middle name Andrew. We liked
the name Andrew before we found that out but it helped us "seal the deal"
on choosing that for his middle name."

6. Lindsey Bolling Hagen,1 son of Paul Derald Hagen and Inez
Wilson Daughtrey, was born on 21 May 1948 in Retreat for the Sick Hospital,
Richmond, VA. Another name for Lindsey is Bo.
General Notes: Called Bo as an adult. Mom (Inez) said that she named
him for her grandfather Bolden Riddick Doughtie but did not know how
to spell Bolden: "Bolling is a fine Virginia name". Aunt Ethel said "Your
momma doesn't make mistakes like that". I (Bo) think she combined her
grandfather's name with Edith Bolling Wilson, Woodrow's wife. After all,
Inez's middle name was Wilson. It is interesting that the 1880 VA Census
lists Bolden as Bolling R. Doughtie.

Much of the Daughtrey genealogy was preserved by Emily Christine
Daughtrey in the early 1900s, compiled and added to by Ethel Daughtrey
Ellis and Inez Daughtrey Hagen during the mid 1900s. Allie Beale
Daughtrey, daughter of Joshua Taylor Daughtrey and Allie Bertie Beale, Bo Hagen
Lindsey Bolling Hagen of Salem, VA
worked with Emily and wrote many records of the family history. She (1993)
was with her grandfather, Eli Daughtrey, to write down his stories of his
service during the Civil War. I (Bo Hagen) will continue to research and document the Daughtreys and
Hagens (Adkins and Garretts as well) and publish all findings for the families of our ancestors in a
humble effort to honor them, especially my mother, Inez Wilson Daughtrey Hagen, and Aunt, Ethel
Cornelia Daughtrey Ellis.

Regarding 2 possible Hagen relations that were Hessian Soldiers ... further research found John Hagen

Sehr geehrter Herr Klingelhöfer

I want to thank you so very much for the response to my inquiry regarding Erich Karl von Hagen und
Johann Wilhelm von Hagen. I have wanted to write for some time with the intent of doing so in German
but unfortunately my efforts are not too good. I have had a difficult time with the translation but thanks
to iGoogle I have a reasonable understanding. I feel that if I used iGoogle to turn my English into
German you might not understand anything I write so here's hoping you understand my thanks and
appreciation.

I have checked out the Johannes Schwalm Historical Association and there is much there that I can look
into. There is an old family story told to me by my Great Aunt Mary some 40 years ago that "our family
name was O'Hagen or Von Hagen or something like that". I have traced my ancestry to Lancaster Co.,
PA to the time of the American Revolution but have reached a dead end. I have done YDNA testing
and it appears that I have common ancestors with known individuals living in Hesse about 250 to 300
years ago although none with the surname Hagen. Then I came across the von Hagen names at
Hessisches Staatsarchiv Marburg. In your letter you write:
