Preface
We are delighted to introduce the proceedings of the second edition of the 2019
European Alliance for Innovation (EAI) International Conference on 5G for Future
Wireless Networks (5GWN). This conference gathered research contributions that
addressthemajoropportunitiesandchallengesinnovel5Gairinterfaces,5Gspectrum,
5G networking architectures and techniques, 5G-driven modern network systems,
5Gsecurityandprivacy,etc.,withanemphasisonnewanalyticaloutcomesandnovel
application scenarios alike.
The technical program of 5GWN 2019 consisted of 13 full papers, in four oral
presentation sessions in the main conference tracks. The conference sessions were:
Session 1: Optimization Theory and Applications; Session 2: Intelligent Computing
Technology for 5G Applications; Session 3: Resource Allocation and Management;
and Session 4: Security and Privacy in Emerging 5G Applications. Aside from the
high-quality technical paper presentations, the technical program also featured two
keynote speeches and one panel session. The two keynote speeches were Xitong Li
from HEC Paris, France, and Xiaojiang Chen from Northwest University, China. The
paneldiscussionwastitled“FutureWirelessNetworking:ProgressandProspects”and
chaired by Haijun Zhang, along with panelists Xitong Li, Xiaojiang Chen, Xiaofei
Wang, and Deke Guo.
Coordinationwiththesteeringchair,ImrichChlamtac,wasessentialforthesuccess
of the conference. We sincerely appreciate the constant support and guidance. It was
also a great pleasure to work with such an excellent Organizing Committee, and we
thank them for their hard work in organizing and supporting the conference. We also
thank the Technical Program Committee, led by our TPC co-chairs, Prof. Qiang Liu,
DekeGuo,ShuiYu,whocompletedthepeerreviewoftechnicalpapersandcompileda
high-quality technical program. We are grateful to the conference manager, Kristina
Lappyova,forhersupportandalltheauthorswhosubmittedtheirpaperstothe5GWN
2019 conference.
We strongly believe that the 5GWN conference provides a good forum for all
researchers, developers, and practitioners to discuss all scientific and technological
aspects relevant to 5G wireless networks. We also expect that future 5GWN
conferences will be as successful and stimulating as indicated by the contributions
presented in this volume.
