CURRENT POSITION

Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy

The Johnson-Shoyama Graduate is Saskatchewan’s Public Policy school created through a
joint venture between the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan. The
School is co-located at both university campuses and currently offers six academic
programs, an executive internship program, and a range of professional development
offerings. The Executive Director is responsible for the content and delivery of the School’s

academic programs, strategic research direction, community outreach, and academic
conference, and the executive education the School’s Outreach and Training Unit offers.
The position also demands a great deal of stakeholder engagement with the universities’
leadership teams, the provincial and federal government, students and alumni, donors, and
other partners.

PRIOR ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE

2013-15 Director Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy

As the Director of the JSGS University of Regina campus I was responsible for
supporting the overall objectives of the School, discharging those duties and
achieving those goals that are specifically assigned, and directly supporting the work
of the JSGS Executive Director. I was also responsible for supervising the University
of Regina faculty and staff, financial management, government relations, student
recruitment, program management and planning. As a decanal equivalent I also
represent the School on the University of Regina University Leadership team in the
areas of research and administration.

2010-13 Graduate Chair Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy

In my role as JSGS University of Regina Graduate Chair I was responsible for
managing the MPP and PhD programs. Duties included student counseling, PhD
programming, chairing admission processes and serving as the Chair on all MPP and
PhD committees. I was also responsible for working directly with the University of
Saskatchewan Graduate Chair to develop and achieved enrolment targets,
coordinate comprehensive exams, and manage the JSGS 990 seminar series.
